!!!Biology Group
   Owing to recent development of "genomic" sciences, DNA sequences of genomes
 from many biological species are now available. All information for living
 systems is written on the DNA sequences. To read-out this genetic
 information is the challenging project for both biological sciences and
 information sciences.
   As one of the aims of our research center, we are trying to develop a
 combined and new concept/research field of bio-information and quantum
 information researches to finally produce a "quantum-bio-informatics"
 research field.
   In silico biology group, we study 1) algorithms for protein three
 dimensional structure prediction from sequences, protein function prediction
 from structures, and system simulation from such functions; 2)analysis and
 extraction of meanings contained in the sequences (DNA, genes, and proteins);
 3) signal transduction systems in cells. Especially we are expecting our
 collaboration effect with theoretical in finding "quantum" algorithms for
 simulation of proteins (for protein three dimensional structure prediction)
 and for information extraction from various sequences.
